Mikel Arteta has cash to splash as Stan Kroenke 'approves' huge transfer budget
Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has approved a war chest of a transfer budget to back boss Mikel Arteta in the summer window. Arsenal finished eighth in the Premier League last season meaning the Gunners have missed out on European football for the first time since 1996. It was a disastrous campaign for Arteta who knows he will need to get recruitment right this summer otherwise he might be out of a job come Christmas. The Gunners have a difficult start to the league next season; they face newly-promoted Brentford on the opening day before back-to-back fixtures against Champions League winners Chelsea and Premier League champions Manchester City.
