Three things Mikel Arteta got wrong as Arsenal suffer opening day defeat at Brentford

Arsenal were embarrassed by Premier League newcomers Brentford in the first game of the 2021/22 Premier League season. The Bees were better in every department and manager Thomas Frank made several brilliant tactical decision. Sergi Canos gave Brentoford the lead in the 22 minute when his fierce strike beat Bernd Leno at his near post, though there was some controversy as to whether the ball did leave the pitch in the build-up. A shocking piece of defending from a long throw then handed Christian Norgaard a free header in the 73 minute to cap off a memorable night for Brentford fans. But was Arteta to blame?
