Antonio Conte set to be Arsenal’s first choice as next manager - but he’ll need assurances
Arsenal have earmarked Antonio Conte to be their next manager if Mikel Arteta is unable to turn things around at the Emirates. The former Inter Milan boss is out of work following his departure from the Nerazzurri at the end of last season. The Italian wanted assurances that he could build upon his title-winning squad but due to their financial difficulties, Inter were unable to grant Conte with the required funds. Instead, the Serie A winners have sold star man Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea in a stunning £97.5 million move, to aid their financial situation.
