Arsenal flop earns France call-up weeks after leaving Gunners thanks to impressive start

Arsenal flop Matteo Guendouzi has been called up to the senior French squad after making an impressive start to the season having joined Marseille on loan. He joins Juventus' Adrien Rabiot in being drafted into the squad and the pair will replace N'Golo Kante and Corentin Tolisso who have withdrawn due to injury. The midfield duo were not available for Wednesday night's draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina and will join up with the squad on Thursday before Saturday's match with Ukraine. France sit top of their qualifying group after four matches with eight points as they look to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
