Arsenal bid £5.9m for Benfica star after Kieran Tierney lasts just 30 minutes on comeback
Mikel Arteta has made a £5.9million offer for Benfica full-back Alex Grimaldo after Arsenal ace Kieran lasted just 30 minutes on his return from injury. The Scotland international, 25, was named in the starting line-up for the Gunners' pre-season fixture against Nurnberg but was forced from the field after only half an hour. Tierney missed the final three months of the 2021/22 campaign after sustaining a knee injury that required surgery in Arsenal's dismal 3-0 showing at Crystal Palace. However, boss Arteta confirmed afterwards that the substitution had been planned before the match to ease him back to match fitness.
