Wenger waiting for sign before Arsenal make move for Benzema alternative
Arsene Wenger is apparently still looking to sign a top class forward before the window slams shut, but is waiting for a go ahead signal from Paris Saint-Germain before making a move for Edinson Cavani, according to the Evening Standard. As the report suggests, we have now seemingly missed out on Karim Benzema – who was our top target. The manager has apparently turned his attention to Edinson Cavani, but is hoping for some encouragement from the Ligue 1 champions. PSG have allegedly shown no interest in selling the Uruguayan, which more than likely means the fee would be hugely inflated.
