Arsenal fail to land Juventus star in deadline day swoop
Arsenal failed in a sensational last minute swoop for Italian star Simone Zaza, reports talkSPORT. The Gunners, who were linked with blockbuster moves for both Edinson Cavani and Gonzalo Higuain as the deadline drew closer, are reported to have had a bid knocked back by Serie A champions Juventus. The Metro suggests the Old Lady would have done business with the North London side if they had returned with a bid of around £22m. Zaza, 24, who has represented his country on five occasions now faces increased competition for places following the arrivals of Mario Mandzukic, Juan Cuadrado and Paulo Dybla.
