Tottenham and Emmanuel Adebayor 'needed to split' according to Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino insists the club's decision to part company with Emmanuel Adebayor was the best solution for both parties. News that the former Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid striker had seen his contract terminated by the White Hart Lane outfit was released to the media on Sunday morning, just hours before the club's Barclays Premier League clash against Sunderland. The 31-year-old's departure leaves Spurs with England international Harry Kane as their only recognised centre-forward and he failed to find the target yet again during the 1-0 victory over the Black Cats as a late goal from midfielder Ryan Mason handed the visitors all three points....
