Arsenal’s Gabriel Paulista wins appeal against red card at Chelsea
Gabriel Paulista’s red card against Chelsea has been overturned after the Football Association upheld Arsenal’s claim of wrongful dismissal. Related: David Squires on … the dark arts of Diego Costa The Brazilian was due to serve a three-match ban after being sent off for flicking a boot at Diego Costa but that has been withdrawn after an independent regulatory commission hearing. He is expected to face Tottenham in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night. Gabriel is facing a separate FA charge of improper conduct relating to his conduct after he was dismissed at Chelsea. If found guilty he could receive a suspension, though the punishment would more likely be a fine.
