Barcelona rival Manchester United, Arsenal & Chelsea for signing of French powerhouse
Barca join running in race for in-demand French starlet. Barcelona want to join Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to sign highly-rated Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte this January. The Catalan giants are keen to strengthen at the back after a poor start to the season, and have looked before at bringing in Laporte, who is regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in Europe. The 21-year-old was targeted by Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea at various points in the summer, but has so far remained in the Spanish top flight.
