Olivier Giroud: 'It was important for me to perform well in France friendly'

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has claimed that it was "important" for him to put in a good performance for France following a seven-month goal drought for his country. The 29-year-old managed to score two goals inside six minutes to give France a 2-1 victory over Denmark in Sunday's friendly. "We made a very good start to the game, all together," Giroud told L'Equipe. "There were some very good things in the first half, even the second, but [we] failed to drive the point and in the end we conceded this goal late in the game.
