Mertesacker Insists Premier League Can Bankroll Bundesliga Finances
It has been reported that Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker says the Premier League can bankroll the Bundesliga's future. The Premier League outspent the German top flight by a staggering £575million during the previous transfer window, and the former Germany international believes this will only benefit his national league. He told Kicker: 'Many clubs in England are under pressure, they have to spend money. “Looking at the circumstance, a mediocre team like Stoke City spent almost 10 million euros on a mediocre striker (Joselu) from Hannover 96. “Then this is well a lucrative deal for a club from Bundesliga.'
