John Hartson: Managers SHOULD give youngsters chance in League Cup - 'When else are they going to play them?'

Former Arsenal striker John Hartson believes Arsene Wenger was right to field a number of youngsters in the League Cup, despite suffering an embarrassing exit at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday. Wenger mixed a number of senior stars with Gunners academy graduates for Tuesday’s encounter at Hillsborough. Glen Kamara, 20, striker Alex Iwobi and 17-year-old Ismael Bennacer were among those making their debuts, alongside the likes of Per Mertesacker, Olivier Giroud and Mathieu Flamini, but the youngsters failed to shine as they fell to a miserable 3-0 defeat.
