Vardy wins player of the month award
Premier League top scorer Jamie Vardy has been named October's player of the month after five goals in four games for Leicester. The England striker, 28, has 12 goals in 12 league games this season and has scored in his last nine matches, helping the Foxes into third place. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger won the manager of the month award after four wins out of four, as the Gunners rose to second in the table. It is Wenger's 15th monthly award. The 66-year-old Frenchman edged out Leicester's Italian boss Claudio Ranieri, who oversaw three wins and a draw in October. Vardy is in Roy Hodgson's England squad for upcoming friendlies against Spain and France.
