Former Arsenal and Chelsea legend nearing Aston Villa move
Roma outcast Ashley Cole is nearing a surprise move to Aston Villa this January, according to reports in the Metro. The 107 cap England legend has had a torrid time of it since moving to Italy last year and has been left out of the club’s Serie A and Champions League squads. His frustrating time in the Italian capital could be drawing to a close however, as bottom side Aston Villa reportedly eye a short-term deal amid their relegation scrap. With Jordan Amavi ruled out for the rest of the season, Villa Park chief Remi Garde is looking for experienced cover in the left-back berth.
