Özil rumours rubbished, record breaking contract imminent for Arsenal star
Mesut Özil has recently been linked with a ridiculous move back to Real Madrid (via N), but the rumours have predictably already been quashed, with the German international instead tipped to sign a bumper new contract with Arsenal, as reported by the Metro. The 27-year-old is in the form of his career at the moment, and has unquestionably been the best playmaker in the Premier League this season – perhaps even the world. It's understandable that the top teams in the game would want him in their side, and while a bizarre thought, it's not totally out of this world to think Real Madrid would want him back.
