Everton's Martinez: Slating of Arsenal boss Wenger boils down to 'a lack of understanding'

GETTY Roberto Martinez lept to the defence of Arsene Wenger ahead of their Premier League clash Arsenal will attempt to end a week in which they have crashed out of the FA Cup and Champions League by re-asserting themselves when they visit Everton on Saturday. The downturn in results have resulted in a torrent of abuse being directed at Wenger, whose longevity no longer offers reassurance to a growing number of supporters but merely fuels their frustration. Everton manager Martinez took issue with the criticism and said if Leicester duo Rihad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy endure injuries, Wenger could yet win the title even though his side are presently 11 points adrift of the league leaders....
