Arsenal star handed huge honour: He wins vote of players, coaches and officials

GETTY HONOUR: Petr Cech has won the Czech player of the year award eight times The 33-year-old topped a poll of players, coaches, football federation officials and journalists to take the honour for a record eighth time. Cech helped Czech Republic qualify for Euro 2016 and has made an immediate impression at the Gunners. He joined last summer from Chelsea and has kept 12 clean sheets in 28 Premier League games. “Cech is currently sidelined with a calf injury” Sparta Prague striker David Lafata was crowned winner last year and he finished second this time around.
