Shawcross: Ramsey tackle ‘affected my persona'
Ryan Shawcross admits that his leg-breaking challenge on Aaron Ramsey affected his public persona but says nobody should feel sorry for him. The Stoke defender spoke to the Daily Telegraph in a rare interview and is clearly upset that one tackle has defined his career. 'It probably affected my persona in public,' said Shawcross. 'You seem to get labelled quickly and it sticks sometimes. It was an accident and it wasn’t me who had the broken leg. So no-one should feel sorry for me.
