Report: Southampton skipper Jose Fonte urges Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain return
Southampton captain Jose Fonte is reportedly personally attempting to persuade Arsenal attacker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to return to St Mary's at the end of the season. Oxlade-Chamberlain, 22, who is currently on the sidelines with a knee problem, left Southampton for Arsenal in 2011 and has since made 100 Premier League appearances for the London club. The England international has largely struggled to hold down a regular position at the Emirates, however, and it is understood that he will be allowed to leave this summer if Arsenal's valuation is met.
