Arsene Wenger has dismissed claims he will sign a new two-year contract extension at Arsenal
Despite a difficult season in which the Gunners failed to mount a sustained title bid against a backdrop of a – admittedly muted – fan protest against Wenger, reports emerged yesterday that the club had already begun talks of tying Wenger to the club until 2018. The Frenchman’s current deal has only 12 months to run, which in the past has generally prompted the start of negotiations.
