Arsenal and Liverpool see identical bids rejected for prolific forward
Arsenal and Liverpool have both seen bids rejected for Sporting Lisbon striker, Islam Slimani, Noticias ao Minuto have reported. According to these reports, Slimani had also been subject of a bid from Leicester City before Arsenal and Liverpool had tabled their offers but it is thought that Sporting Lisbon will hold firm until Slimani's release clause, of around £24 million, is matched. Slimani was prolific throughout the last campaign, netting 30 goals in all competitions for the Portuguese side and scoring on three occasions for Algeria.
