Arsenal and Chelsea on alert for Serie A defender: Contract talks stall

The 25-year-old is thought to have been valued at £30million by the Serie A outfit. Arsene Wenger has been monitoring the player’s progress as he only has three recognisable centre-backs at his disposal. Chelsea meanwhile are tracking Manolas, with John Terry set to play a bit-part role while first choice Kurt Zouma, may not be fit in time for the start of the season. Reports last month suggested Manchester United had a £28million bid for Manolas rejected. According to Italian paper Corriere dello Sport, Manolas remains a target for Arsenal and Chelsea.
