Experienced target ready to snub West Ham for surprise Arsenal transfer

According to reports from Sport, former skipper Thomas Vermaelen wants to return to Arsenal during the summer transfer window. The Belgium international made 150 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal, captaining them from summer 2012 until his departure to Barcelona in summer 2014. But the centre-back has endured a torrid tenure at the Nou Camp, managing just eleven appearances during the last two La Liga campaigns amid a host of injury problems.
