Best, worst-case scenario for every Premier League team in 2016-17
Will an underdog like Leicester City shock the world in 2016-17, or will the EPL power structure revert to form?
The dreams and nightmares of the last Premier League season created a new climate in which underdogs are encouraged to think big. Whereas mid-table clubs once targeted incremental progress, Leicester have inspired modest clubs armed with sizeable budgets to challenge the elite. TV money has shattered the glass ceiling: anyone can move into top four and, as Chelsea know, anyone can also fall out of it. With that in mind, and with the caveat that nothing really is impossible, here are the 'realistic' best and worst-case scenarios for each club, in order of 2015-16 finish:
