Arsenal handed major transfer boost: World Cup winner wants to join Gunners
GETTY LOOKING FOR THE EXIT: Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi wants to join Arsenal Per Mertesacker is out until the New Year with a knee injury, Gabriel will be absent for two months with an ankle problem while Laurent Koscielny has only just returned to training following his Euro 2016 exploits. Arsenal's need to strengthen their defence was highlighted by yesterday's 4-3 defeat at home to Liverpool that saw 20-year-old signing Rob Holding partner Calum Chambers. Mustafi is under contract at Valencia until 2019 and was part of Germany's triumphant 2014 World Cup squad. The former Everton defender joined the La Liga club in 2014.
