Arsenal News: Midfielder switch blocked, Ozil contract boost, Howe on Wilshere flexibility
Arsenal reportedly blocked Jack Wilshere's potential move to Roma due to the Italian's financial package. The England international received plenty of interest from Premier League clubs and around Europe, but eventually signed for Bournemouth. Wilshere's season-long loan agreed with the Cherries saw Eddie Howe's side pay a £2m loan fee though and cover all of his £80,000-a-week wages. According to the Daily Mail, Roma didn't match the offer and Arsenal decided against letting Wilshere leave for Serie A as a result. The 24-year-old had reportedly agreed terms with the Italian giants, but was blocked from joining them.
