In a game Arsenal had to win having started eight points behind leaders Manchester City, Arsene Wenger's side made a very slow start. And they were made to pay when Nacho Monreal conceded a free kick on the edge of the box and Dusan Tadic's effort was tipped onto the crossbar by Petr Cech but the ball rebounded and hit the Czech in the back before rolling into the back of the net. To Arsenal's credit they responded and got back into game and they levelled the match through an outstanding bicycle kick by captain Laurent Koscielny after the Saints failed to clear the ball.
