Arsenal made summer move for superstar striker… bid fell short of value

Arsenal made a summer move to sign Gonzalo Higuain but fell short of Napoli’s valuation, according to the Serie A side’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis. The Gunners were heavily aligned with the 28-year-old forward during last transfer window, but despite serious talk of the club trying to lure him to London, he eventually joined Juventus in a £75.3m deal – making him the fourth most expensive player in the history of the beautiful game.
