Spain call up Arsenal's Nacho Monreal after Jordi Alba suffers thigh injury

Spain have called up Arsenal's Nacho Monreal to replace the injured Jordi Alba, who suffered a thigh strain during the 1-1 World Cup qualifying draw in Italy on Thursday. Barcelona defender Alba will sit out Sunday's qualifier in Albania after he was injured in the 22nd minute and replaced by Real Madrid's Nacho Fernandez. A statement said Monreal would be called up in his place, adding that Barcelona had been contacted "to inform them of the diagnostics."
