Merson: Why Arsenal star Giroud's goal was better than Mkhitaryan's Man Utd strike
The Manchester United winger scored a spectacular goal against Sunderland on Boxing Day as he connected perfectly with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's cross. However, the goal shouldn't have stood as Henrikh Mkhitaryan was in an offside position when the ball was played in. Just six days after Mkhitaryan's strike, Giroud scored a similar goal - this time onside - when he netted the opener in Arsenal's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. GETTY
