Arsenal legend: I was told on deadline day I wasn't wanted

GETTY John Lukic pictured with Bob Wilson - Lukic would go to make over 200 appearances for Arsenal George Graham, the legendary Gunners boss, decided in 1990 he wanted to sign David Seaman from QPR. It meant Lukic, who played more than 200 games for the club, would be given the chop. Although there wasn't a transfer window back then, clubs did have to have deals done a few weeks before the end of the season. And it was then that Lukic was told he wasn't needed. Speaking on a Sky Sports programme celebrating Seaman's career, Lukic said: "It presented itself on transfer deadline day, "The phone went at 8 o'clock in the morning and it was George."
