GETTY Arsene Wenger has asked to be kept in the loop on Chris Smalling and Phil Jones' futures The Arsenal manager is on the hunt for defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season, according to The Gambling Times. Starsport understand Jose Mourinho is set to ditch Smalling as a result of Victor Lindelof's impending arrival while Jones will be reduced to a back-up role. Mourinho has decided Smalling is not good enough and will sell him to the highest bidder this summer. He managed just 18 appearances in the league last term and the United manager has concerns over his mental toughness.
