Steve Nicol: Man Utd outcast Chris Smalling will sign for Arsenal this summer
Smalling has been linked with an exit from Manchester United after they completed the signing of Victor Lindelof from Benfica yesterday. Arsenal are one of the teams rumoured to want the England centre-back and he would be the first player to make that switch since Danny Welbeck in 2014. Nicol says the Gunners need to bring in reinforcements at the back, with question marks over the long-term fitness of the likes of Laurent Koscielny. But he says supporters may not be happy with signing another player rivals United did not want to keep.
