Virgil van Dijk to Arsenal: Gunners could compete with Prem rivals to bolster defence
GETTY Arsenal have joined Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City in the hunt to land Virgil van Dijk Southampton defender Van Dijk has been as one of the Premier League's most consistent performers since moving to the south coast from Celtic in 2015. Liverpool tried to sign the 26-year-old Dutchman earlier in the summer but failed and were forced to issue an apology to the Saints over their aggressive transfer tactics. Van Dijk remains keen to move to Anfield before the new season gets underway but several other top English clubs are sniffing around.
