Alexis Sanchez has one year left on his Arsenal contract
The Chilean is due to make his return to training today after being given extra time off following the Confederations Cup. That has however been placed in doubt after at the end of last week he posted a picture on social media claiming to be ill. Sanchez, 28, is in the final year of his Gunners contract and will seek showdown talks with Arsene Wenger when he does return and will tell him that he wants to quit the club. The Gunners have insisted all summer that he isn’t for sale after contract talks stalled but could decide to soften their stance rather than keep a player who clearly wants to leave.
