Arsenal transfer news: Aston Villa make ambitious approach to sign Jack Wilshere
Wilshere, 25, has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer with just one year remaining on his current contract. West Ham, Newcastle, Swansea, and Italian side Sampdoria have reportedly expressed an interest in the England international. But The Daily Mirror claim Aston Villa have entered the race to sign him as they look to build a squad capable of securing a return to the Premier League. Arsenal have apparently told Wilshere he can leave the Emirates if the right offer comes in.
