PSG warn Arsenal of cost of signing Marco Verratti
Arsenal's hopes of signing Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Verratti have suffered a blow after the French giants demanded £40m to sell the 22-year-old, reports the Daily Star. The Gunners are long-time admirers of the Italian international, who has ten caps for his country, but are highly unlikely to splash the cash on a player who is still unproven at the top level – having not played in the Premier League or La Liga. Juventus have also shown an interest in Verratti, but Arsene Wenger is unlikely to be drawn into a bidding war for the player, despite him being favourably compared to Andrea Pirlo.
